Troubleshooting

I have invited a team member, but they cannot see the invitation.

There are a few things to check in this scenario:

  1. Make sure that they have signed up with the same email that you have invited them with.
  2. Go to Manage Team, and then My Team, and copy the unique link under their name and send it to them.
  3. If they already have an account, have them click on the notification icon in the top right corner, and accept the invite from the pop up that appears.

I can't see all of my cars I need when adding an event.

Go to Manage Team, and then My Garage. From here you can add all of the cars you need to your team. Even if your drivers haven’t accepted yet, you are still able to add them to a car – they will be able to access the events when they have signed up!

I'm confused about why I need cars in my team.

At pitbox.io, we have tried to model the platform just like a race team. Firstly, you need a team (which you can invite in Manage Team > My Team) which is made up of Drivers, Engineers, and Driver Coaches (Mechanics are coming later!).

Then you need cars to take to events with you. These cars have a driver, or multiple drivers linked to them. To create a car and link a driver(s), go to Manage Team > My Garage.

Finally you need an event, which you take some or all of your cars to. To create an event click on Events, and then the Add Event button.

I'm confused about what all of the different roles do in pitbox.io!

Currently there are eight roles in pitbox.io on the Professional subscription. For more information visit our roles page, and for a quick summary see below:

  1. Team Principal: this role has full access to do anything, from inputting car setups and laptimes to adding cars, adding events, and adding/removing team members.
  2. Race Engineer: this role is able to add events, sessions, and stints, as well as input and view any data. The only thing they cannot do is add cars or add/remove team members.
  3. Data Engineer: very similar to the Race Engineer, however they cannot add events, sessions, or stints.
  4. Driver Coach – Team: They can see all drivers data from within a team, including laptimes and onboard video. They cannot see any car setup or tyre data.
  5. Driver: They can only see their own data, and can input laptimes and driver feedback.
  6. Driver Coach – Personal: Very similar to the Driver Coach – Team, however they can only see the data of the drivers they share a car with. They should be added to a car in Manage Team – My Garage as you would with a driver.
  7. Mechanic: Can see and add setup changes and tyre data for the car they belong to.
  8. Tyre Technician: Can see and add tyre data for the car they belong to.

Drivers

Can other drivers in my team see my data?

No – Drivers can only see their own data.

Can I be a part of multiple teams?

Yes – pitbox.io does not limit either the amount of teams you can join or create.

What happens to my track maps and track map data if I leave a team?

You will keep a copy of all of your data, so even if you leave a team you will still have access to your data. All track maps are your own, and your previous team(s) will not retain a copy.

Can I share my track notes with another Driver?

Yes, you can share your track notes with anyone in the same team.

Can I share my session feedback notes with my team mate?

No – currently your session feedback notes can only be shared with the Engineers in your team.

Can I filter my session feedback notes based on the category I am racing in?

We would advise you set up two different teams within pitbox.io for these two different categories. This allows you to have a different track maps for each, and ensures you are viewing like for like data.

What if I cannot find a race track in pitbox.io that I need?

Please visit our Track Request page and provide the track name and an map outline (if possible), and we will get the track into pitbox.io for you.

Engineers

How do I compare my different car setups?

You are able to line up any car setups for a given event side by side to quickly compare. Comparing between multiple events is not available just yet, however it is seamless to navigate between events to quickly look at your various setups.

Can I be a part of multiple teams?

Yes – pitbox.io does not limit either the amount of teams you can join or create.

Can I reassign a car to another Engineer?

Currently, all Engineers have access to all Drivers data within that team. This means there is no need to assign a car or Driver to a particular Engineer.

Will pitbox.io calculate my tyre pressures for me?

Not just yet! This feature is coming later, but for now pitbox.io allows you to track all of your hot and cold tyre pressures as well as tyre temperatures and depths

Why is my fuel burn is not calculating properly?

Make sure that you have the amount of laps inputted! To do this go to the Session header, and click on Lap Times. Here input the lap count for the driver, wait for it to autosave, and go back to the Tyre & Fuel section. This should now calculate correctly.

Team Owners

How is my data secured?

All of your data is encrypted and stored within Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure – the same technology many banks use.

Will other teams be able to see my data?

No – only users within your team can see your data. Engineers have access to all the teams data while they are a part of the team. Drivers only ever have access to their data.

What happens to my data if I leave pitbox.io?

Your data will be archived. If you re-join pitbox.io at a later date then your data will be un-archived and available as if you never left.

Can I share my data?

No – your data only stays within your team, and cannot be shared externally.

Please visit our Track Request page and provide the track name and an map outline (if possible), and we will get the track into pitbox.io for you.

What happens when I remove a user from my team?

When removed, an Engineer or Driver Coach will lose all access to your teams data, but keep any track maps they have created. If a Driver is removed, they will keep a copy of their data, as will the team.
